Nova Scotia-Morocco Conjugate Biostratigraphy Project

Biostratigraphy, the study of fossils to determine the age and depositional conditions of the sediments from which they are recovered, is a critical input to the seismic reconstruction of the Nova Scotia and Morocco margins.  Detailed biostratigraphical analyses have been completed by an international team using new well samples collected along four coincident transects that cross both margins.  This work delivers a consistent set of biostratigraphically-constrained seismic surfaces in a number of Moroccan wells that are comparable to those recognized from the Scotian Margin.
