Sydney Basin Play Fairway Analysis Atlas (2017)
July 2017
The objectives of this Play Fairway Analysis are to build a detailed and comprehensive understanding of the petroleum systems of the Sydney Basin and provide a resource evaluation based on the petroleum systems assessment. The study concludes there is an effective petroleum system charged by mai

High-Resolution Numerical Model Resource Assessment of Minas Passage, Bay of Fundy
January 2017
Two numerical models developed by the Acadia Tidal Energy Institute are described. The models simulate the tidal flow in the Bay of Fundy, and in particular the Minas Passage. The models have different grid resolution, one suitable for site assessment and one suitable for resource assessment.
Turbulence in Grand Passage Nova Scotia: Measures of Intermittency
April – December 2016
Turbulence research is very important to advancing the in-stream tidal energy sector, however turbulence in general is not well understood. Measurement at prospective turbine locations is essential prior to development, given the high degree of spatial variability between sites.

Central Scotian Slope Atlas (2016)
January – August 2016
The objective of this project was to identify and technically evaluate any significant exploration leads and prospects in the area of interest. The study used integrated 3D basin modelling analysis to assess the timing of maturation of source rocks, transformation ratios, hydrocarbon entrapment,

Direct Hydrocarbon Indicator (DHI) Mapping, Offshore Nova Scotia
January – May 2016
This project reviewed existing seismic data to identify and catalogue Direct Hydrocarbon Indicators (DHIs) in offshore Nova Scotia, particularly in the Laurentian and Georges Bank Sub-basins.
Spectral and Structure Function Estimates of Turbulence Dissipation Rates in a High Flow Tidal Channel Using Broadband ADCPs
January 2016
Spectral and structure function methods are implemented to compute the dissipation rate, ε, from broadband, diverging-beam, acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) data collected at four sites in a high-flow tidal channel.

Establishment of Baseline Biological Data on Snow Crab (Chionoecetes opilio) Offshore Cape Breton for Future Assessment of Potential Impacts of Seismic Noise on Snow Crab
April 2012 – February 2015
The study investigates the impact of sound energy generated by acoustic/seismic arrays on snow crabs.

Test Snow Crab Response to Seismic Stress
February 2012 – September 2013
There is concern in Atlantic Canada that there is insufficient information on the potential effects of seismic noise on snow crab.
Turbulence and Drag in a High Reynolds Number Tidal Passage Targeted for In-Stream Tidal Power
August 2013
Results are presented from an investigation of turbulence and bottom drag carried out in Grand Passage, lower Bay of Fundy.
