SW Nova Scotia Expansion Atlas (2015)

This project is an expansion of the 2011 Play Fairway Analysis to the western border of the Nova Scotia marine shelf. This expansion corresponds to the Georges Bank zone and surrounding area extending from the Yarmouth Arch to the Shelburne Sub-basin. Petroleum systems modelling predicts that ~12 billion barrels (bnbbls) oil and 80 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas may be present, with some 4.3 bnbbls and 44 Tcf trapped in the top 10 leads. Based on predicted ratios of gas, oil and oil equivalent, the deep water parcels rank better that those on the shelf.
